Black and White

I really love black and white. Yeah, I know, bright colours are all the rage, but I just don't care. When Autumn turns down into Winter, and the snow flies, I get back to painting and drawing and whatever I happen to be doing, with black, white, and shades of gray... or is it grey... heh.

Here's a painting that I have up on my website right now. Makes me cold, just looking at it.

Selling on eBay

I sell a lot of paintings on eBay. Sometimes I read the stuff my fellow sellers put in their auction copy, to sell their paintings. Some of these people really lay it on thick, with a lot of BS about how they are internationally famous artists, and their work sells in galleries the world round, for big bucks, but they are selling their work on eBay now for a mere fraction of what it is selling for in the galleries, just out of the goodness of their hearts.

Heh! what a bunch of Cheese-Whiz.

Here's a painting that I have up on eBay right now, and at the moment, the bid is steady at $70.00, which is Ok with me. Of course, if it sells for twice that, it will be twice as Ok with me.

Painting America

There's no telling, what a painter might do... a painter can paint... or a painter might just decide to write his ideas down in text.

I'm not old enough to know for sure... but I suspect that painting and drawing pre-date written language. Written language is pretty handy... except when addressing someone who does not speak the same language as you. Then... being able to draw someone a picture, might turn out to be a very hand skill.

Also, a painter can say things in image format, that language just wasn't designed to say. That's why I always crack up, when I see a painting with a long verbal explanation tacked to the wall along side it... trying to explain the picture.
